How did the General Foods International Coffees commercials get their start on TV?

I often wondered how General Foods International Coffees commercials got their start on TV? Was General Foods hoping that these new at-the time coffees would attract customers to try them or was General Foods trying to get the new customers to try these coffees by developing their commercials to attract the new coffee drinkers? Another thing I cannot figure out is how General Foods developed the jingle/slogan "Celebrate The Moments Of Your Life" for the International Coffees commercials? I basically think General Foods thought that slogan would sell more coffees. And by using celebrities like actress Carol Lawrence and other famous stars in the commercials General Foods knew how to market a winning coffee line. My mother is a fan of General Foods International Coffees and likes the many coffees they have
