Missing avatars, profile pictures, post icons, smilies and other images

I don't know what happened to them. I have opened a support ticket. They are working on fixing it.

I dont have any problems going direct as I am on the laptop right now..

I checked the directory and its in there but it says "edit.gif.sorry" .. Alot of them do right now... (.sorry)

It's a huge mess. There was some cPanel vulnerability causing huge issues. Our host was able to update and patch it up.

It looks like there was possibly some ransomware installed. Many of the .jpg and .gif files were renamed to the .sorry file extension. I'm talking to our host about it. We might have to be moved to a new server.

Our host was able to remove the .sorry extension. Many of the .jpg and .gif files are still encrypted.

I tried uploading some backup files. It doesn't overwrite them.

What if you go into the directory Todd and delete "edit.gif",etc... and then upload your backup as "edit.gif" that should work??

That's what I'm going to do. I'm extracting the backup files now. I have a full backup from October 28, 2024. I should be able to re-upload certain folders.

All of the files are still there. Many are encrypted so they won't display.

The custom avatars we offer should display once I re-upload the folder. Any user uploaded avatars may have to be re-uploaded.

Any member uploaded avatars or profile pictures uploaded after October 28, 2024, will probably need to be uploaded again. I can restore the older ones.

I have most of the forum images/smilies/avatars (the ones we offer) folders re-uploaded. Cloudflare is still caching the newly uploaded ones from yesterday, so I'm going to purge the entire cache at some point. I'm purging individual files right now.

I still need to upload the customavatars and customprofilepics folders.

It could have been much worse. Some folders weren't affected at all.

If an avatar or another image doesn't load, try opening it up in a new window and refreshing it a few times.

The avatars folders should be ready. Next up is the customprofilepics folder.
