no, i didn't really notice, i know she likes to kinda lightly slap beaver on the behind for him to get going once and a while, but i'll have to rewatch that ep, i actually love how they keep fighting and she has to break em up!

That was a rare scene. It's not often Beaver and Wally fight like that and even more, it's rare to see June (wearing her traditional dress and pearls) physically breaking up a fight. I say way to go June!!!

Personally, I hated the way the episode ended, June yelling "I failed as a parent" leaving Ward with this superior attitude and an I told you so on the tip of his tounge.

i dont think june "failed" in essance as a parent... it's just she was wrong at that point, i don't think she should have made them make a pact or anything, that ws kinda corny, cuz lemme tell ya, i fight with my little sis ALL the time (well actually, i just fight with her when i see her... she's a little brat!) and a lot of times i wish she wasn't my sister (she's actually my half-sis, so i get breaks from her) but in essance, june should have thought of a diff way to make them appologize, tell beav not to touch wally's things and tell wally to act like a man about it, and maybe make them not do stuff together for a while, cuz they prolly just needed a break. When i'm getting edgy with my lil sis, i just tel her to leave me for an hour or i leave the house now that i have a car! hahah, but i rewatched the ep, and i didn't see june hit wally, which part was it? right in the beginging of her breaking htem up?

This certainly was a "rare" Leave It To Beaver episode in that this was the only one where we see Beaver and Wally physically fight. When you saw Wally and Beaver fight later on, it was just with words, not with fists. And June's reaction to it all was kind of...well, shocking, I guess. For me, I saw all of the 3rd season episodes through to the sixth before I saw the episodes from season 1. I never saw June trying to break up a fight like she did. Wow, she was really yanking the Beaver around, just to get them to stop. But her actions were appropriate for the situation. I don't think we can expect a parent to act any different. Unless we look at Ward's approach, which would just be to let them fight it out.

I don't remember June hitting Wally, but I must say this episode
with the two boys actually scuffling and fighting showed a lot of
tension and violence that you would not expect from a sitcom,
particularily during that period of time. It had a lot of realism
and made me feel sad that the two boys fighting like that
even though they were acting I sure empathize with June.
