I dont think I have ever eaten food on an airplane although I havent been on 1 many times...

In the economy class section, the food they provide is not too bad (compare it to TV Dinner) as it is catered from outside and loaded in the airplane. I have not been in business or first class section, but they probably get high tier food items.
