"Ghosts" Gets One-Hour Halloween & Christmas Specials in Fall 2026 before Season 6’s Spring Premiere

CBS will be getting into the holiday spirit with two "Ghosts" specials this fall.

While the comedy series is not set to return for Season 6 until 2027, the network revealed Wednesday that the spring premiere will be preceded two one-hour specials for Halloween and Christmas.

No specific dates are set just yet for those, but of course they are expected to air around their respective holidays.

"Ghosts" Showrunners Tease Upcoming Holiday Specials — Comic-Con

While "Ghosts" won’t technically return until the spring, the network is tiding audiences over with hourlong Halloween and Christmas specials this coming fall.

“In the Halloween special, which is our first ever hourlong, we’re gonna meet Hetty’s sister, her mustachioed sister Margaret, who’s been referenced several times in the show,” showrunner Joe Wiseman revealed to many oohs and aahs inside the room, adding that the episode will introduce her “in a sort of unusual way.”

“She’s gonna be a type of ghost that we have never seen,” he added.




As for this year’s Christmas special, “it’s inspired by what we think would be one of Jay and probably Trevor’s favorite movies, Die Hard,” showrunner Joe Port shared.

While he didn’t reveal which special will get the honor, one of them will feature the show’s “first ever ghost-on-ghost possession,” Port said.

The Halloween special of "Ghosts" will air on Thursday, October 29th at 9-10pm.

The Christmas special of "Ghosts" will air on Thursday, December 10th at 9-10pm.
