I have a question about the versions of the theme tune used for seasons 2, 3 and 4 of I Dream of Jeannie.
Specifically... a. Didn't any season 3 episodes -- when originally aired on NBC -- carry over the season 2 version for the first few episodes' intros (despite the restoration of Sidney Sheldon's created by credit to it), bumpers and closing credits? For example, I want to think the first four of these still had the '66 music for the intro/bumpers/credits: 2x01: "Fly Me to the Moon" (9/12/67) 2x02: "Jeannie or the Tiger?" (9/19/67) 2x03: "The Second Greatest Con Artist in the World" (9/26/67) 2x04: "My Turned-On Master" (10/3/67) ...which, if confirmed, would mean episode 2x05, "My Master, the Weakling" (10/10/67), was the actual first episode to use the new, commonly-heard intro theme music. b. Likewise, didn't any early season 4 episodes (which normally used the new "big band" version) -- again when originally aired on NBC -- still use the season 3 version's music in the bumpers and closing credits? Thank you, Ben (Frosty81) |
