Before making us laugh in comedy classics such as Planes Trains And Automobiles Summer Rental Uncle Buck and The Great Outdoors a little known fact about John Candy was he did commercials in Canada. John Candy's first commercial was for Bob's Big Guy restaurants "Canada's version of America's Bob's Big Boy restaurants" This commercial might be from the 70's and may be circa 1972-73. When the commercial begins we see John Candy as Bob's Big Guy and he watches people eat and when people are finished with their meals John Candy eats the rest of the food and the commercial ends with kids standing at a Bob's Big Guy statue and the statue talks to the kids begging them to feed him food. I was surprised to find this commercial because I never knew John Candy did commercials before movies
How did John Candy get approached by Bob's Big Guy Restaurants to do this commercial and did he do more commercials for Bob's Big Guy too? |
