Peacock is staying in "The ‘Burbs", renewing the breakout suburban mystery comedy series, starring and executive produced by Keke Palmer, for a second season.

The pickup comes two months after its high-profile launch on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 8. Promoted with spots during the game on NBC and Peacock, all 8 episodes dropped on the streamer right after.

As a result, "The ‘Burbs" had the highest Day 1 for a Peacock original ever.



Since then, the series has generated more than 1.7 billion viewing minutes on the domestic platform.

The series also made Nielsen’s U.S. Originals Top 10 for four consecutive weeks, the weeks of Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23, peaking at No.2, an impressive feat since the ranking is based on minutes viewed, putting comedies with shorter run times like "The ‘Burbs" at a disadvantage.
