Dan Levy Breaks into Tears Explaining There won't Be a Sequel to "Schitt's Creek" after Catherine O'Hara's Death

Catherine O'Hara's fans will always have six seasons of "Schitt’s Creek" to rewatch whenever they miss the beloved Canadian comedienne, who died in January at the age of 71. But six seasons is likely all there's going to be.

Dan Levy, who co-created and starred on the series alongside O'Hara, recently took a trip to Goodwood, Ontario, the quaint hamlet where "Schitt's Creek" shot each of its 80 episodes (and one special).




Strolling through Goodwood and reflecting on the golden years of producing "Schitt's Creek", Levy surprised himself by breaking down into tears over the prospect of a sequel without O'Hara.

"No, not now," he told CBS Sunday Morning correspondent Anthony Mason, who asked if there could ever be more "Schitt's Creek" in the wake of the tragedy in a clip shared on Sunday. "You can't."

Levy explained that before O'Hara's death, he was "thinking about" a sequel, reboot, or some other kind of revival. But "it's tough," he said, not explaining why, and not exactly needing to.




The eldest child of his "Schitt's Creek" co-creator and costar, Eugene Levy, then stammered, looked away, pulled off his eyeglasses, and wiped away tears.

"I didn't think that I would have quite an emotional reaction," he said.

Mason asked what Dan was feeling. "Just a lot of memories. A lot of memories with with Catherine," he shared, standing in the center of the town where they spent so many years volleying off one another. "It's what you have to hold onto, the memories of it all."
