I'm looking for the top ten funniest dates of all time on a situation comedy--any sitcom, any era. The only guideline is that the woman or girl on the date be a regular on the show and not a guest star. I'm looking for laugh out loud, stitch in your side, pee in your pants funny.
Thank you in advance for all your help. Warmest Regards, hellocaroline |

OK, I absolutely LOVED the Happy Days epsiode called "A Date With Fonzie" where Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard), Arthur Fonzarelli ("The Fonz") (Henry Winkler), Laverne Dafazio (Peny Marshall), and Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams) double date. Though Laverne and Shirley did not appear often, they were regular characters built into the show and reappeared in many episodes. Laverne and Shirley got their spin-off show off of Happy Days.
The funniest scene, I think, was when Richie and Shirley try to get in the Cunningham house. Richie locked himself out and had to climb through a window. This caused him to knock over a lamp and tear his pants. Later, Fonzie and Laverne go up to Fonzie's apartment and Richie is left alone with Shirley. Rather than making out, Richie gets nervous and decides to make a snack. He asks Shirley how she and Laverne got into a fight earlier (in the lady's room at Arnold's) and, while trying to show him, she accidentally hits him and knocks him out on the floor. Just then, Richie's parents come home and see Shirley leaned over Richie on the floor and Richie's torn pants. Howard (Tom Bosley) asks what happened, but only believes Fonzie's version of the story (Fonzie comes in later to join Richie and Howard in the living room) that Richie and Shirley got into such a mad state of passion that they chased each other around the house, causing them to knock over the lamp, and tear Richie's pants. Howard grins in the end, wraps his arm around Richie's shoulder and boasts, "That's my boy!" |
