"Murder, She Wrote" Movie with Jamie Lee Curtis Sets Christmas 2027 Release

“Murder, She Wrote”, a reboot of the beloved crime drama, will land in theaters next Christmas. Universal Pictures has slated the film to open on Dec. 22, 2027.

Jamie Lee Curtis is starring as the iconic crime writer and amateur sleuth known as Jessica Fletcher, who was memorably portrayed by Angela Lansbury in the original TV series.

Plot details for the upcoming movie haven’t been revealed.

Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is directing from a screenplay by Dumb Money scribes Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.

Amy Pascal, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who recently collaborated on Amazon MGM’s hit Project Hail Mary, will produce the film through Lord Miller’s first‑look deal with Universal Pictures.
