Hello all! I'm sure most of you know of my website and now my podcast on missing persons and unexplained death cases, many of which have been featured on Unsolved Mysteries. My friend Clinton is helping me in researching the Permon Gilbert case for a podcast. He submitted a FOIA request and Clermont County actually sent us the entire police file (with some redactions). There is a lot of additional information in there.
We have also started a Facebook page for Permon Gilbert in hopes of hearing from locals (or anyone) with more information. Check it out! https://www.facebook.com/people/Perm...1588440565937/ Last week I released Part 1 of my podcast giving the known facts of the case and theories. Here it is: https://open.spotify.com/episode/44C...6060d0e090460f Here is the article form: https://lostnfoundblogs.com/f/permon...-or-rendezvous Stay tuned for Part #2 that should be released this weekend. We will talk about a lot of information from the police file that has never been talked about publicly before and also crime scene photos. We will also talk about two person of interests that you've probably never heard of. |

good work, can't wait to see the next release. I hope that new information leads to something tangible for helping with a potential solve.

The part about the drug runners is a good point - I never really thought of that - Permon refuses to help them so they beat the hell out of him and kill him and leave his nude body on the side of the road to easily be found? Not logical.

Crystaldawn, you’ve done it again. Great read. I’m on the edge of my seat for part 2.
I don’t subscribe to the theory that Permon’s murder was over his refusal to fly drugs. In fact, I’m rather skeptical that he was asked to do this to begin with. Would smugglers continually approach a stranger who already refused at least once, and thus risk bringing attention to their operation? Was it only Permon’s family who stated that he made that claim to them? Now I could potentially see something like this happening over his brother’s activities and the Grand jury testimony. Maybe. But not over his refusal to fly. I’m curious if Permon’s daughters are still looking for answers, why they wouldn’t talk to you. No matter how old or painful the case, I would want to talk to anyone who could possibly help find answers to my Dad’s murder. But that’s me. I still like the affair theory though there doesn’t seem to be much evidence to back it up. Who knows, will part 2 shed some light on that theory? Can’t wait to find out! |

Thanks so much everyone! Okay here is a link to part 2 of my podcast as well as a link to the article version on my website. I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks after hearing some more information that Unsolved Mysteries didn't mention.

ETA: So there were drugs being flown in and Permon put a stop to it? I’m going this echo what I wrote on Facebook- This case is CRAZY. I didn’t think there were so many possibilities, including multiple theories potentially happening at once. I definitely think Permon was having an affair but who knows at this point if it contributed to his death. There are so many fingers you could point it’s ridiculous- Drugs, gambling, Mafia connections, sex and infidelity. You cannot make this up. I agree that Jo Ann’s admission that she went out that night is……..interesting to say the least. Thank you so much for your hard work on this case and summarizing it up so well. It just goes to show that no matter how successful Unsolved Mysteries was at making out a family to be close and devoted and All-‘Murican, there were always skeletons in somebody’s closet. |

Great articles and it all but confirms my belief that he was killed by the husband of a woman he was having an affair with.

For sure, it doesn't shine a light on Permon like the wife and kids might have been trying for in the UM segment. He definitely had his vices. |

my feelings were that a married couple that was still alive both know what happened. someone helped the murderer move the body. only a married couple or a very close companion of some sort could keep that secret.
Why was Permon upset beforehand? For me that's easy. Most likely both spouses knew about the affair and Permon was probably being pressured or given ultimatums by both spouses to end the relationship. I think that perhaps Permon's wife did not want people to know what was really happening with Permon behind the scenes and couldn't prove that he was murdered due to the affair. but she had to have known more than she led on or strongly suspected the murder having to do with an affair. The fact that she withheld information about seeing him is a massive red flag for the credibility of the version she gave on UM. then you say, well maybe it could be mafia or drug related, but that doesn't necessarily fit the actual story and the updated info presented here IMO. and a gambling ring? show me a workplace with dudes that doesn't have one and I'll be genuinely surprised. The story that can be substantiated mostly shows that Permon was out messing around and actively flirting with other women. My guess is he could have been having multiple affairs over time and that only increased his chances of being in a violent altercation with an upset spouse. None of that means that he deserved to be murdered. People are human and have vices. there are other ways to solve problems aside from violence and whoever did this, no matter how old, should be held accountable. Thank you CD for the information and the work that you did here. I hope that it keeps the pressure on law enforcement to continue their investigation. It looks like they have some good leads even after all of this time. |

In your first post you discuss the flower shop visit and wonder who he could have asked for -- FWIW, in the UM segment if you listen closely he does ask Donna for "Jean." Whether UM just picked a name that was on the sign or if they were tipped that it was Jean IDK.

Someone on this board found the name of the woman that Permon was looking for years ago, IIRC. I think it was Jean something.
