Hysterical New GI Commercial on TV Land... - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Has anyone else seen the new commercial for the whole "there's no place like TV Land" thing? It's so great.

The whole premise is they're taking testimonials from different people who are marooned on islands. I can't remember it word-for-word, but they're like, "We don't get any visitors. No jungle boys, no cosmonauts. No Don Rickles."

When I see the commercial again I'll post it. It's funnier than I just made it out to be... LOL.

YES!!!! i saw it yesterday and i went hysterical!! my mom gave me this look and said "ok julie....it wasn't that funny." and i'm just all "YES IT WAS!!!!"

"not a single luxury? i'll tell you about not a single luxury! i didn't get a radio!" (there was more to that line that was even funnier....but i don't remember. weird that i don't remember the funny part. lol)

speaking of the radio....i wanna know what kind of antenna that thing had! one day it picked up KDKA in pittsburgh!

LOL I love that commercial! I saw it last night. LOL I loved the testimonials on it.

You mean the castaways's radio picked up a Pittsburgh station? If so I don't remember the ep that happened. But in the cosmonaut ep Gilligan mentions picking up a Manilla, Phillipine Islands radio station. I guess the radio's a short wave. They had them back then.

yeah....i'm not sure....but i think maybe it was "ship ahoax" where ginger pretends to be a fortune teller. but regardless of what episode it was in....the radio comes on with "this is KDKA in Pittsburgh...." at first i didn't think anything of it....cause KDKA is pretty common around here....and then i'm like....wait a minute! they got pittsburgh???
