Default Why did ABC cancel Home in the 90's?

In the 80's to the 90's before The View took over daytime TV ABC had Home which was a lifestyle show that had segments with celebrity interviews advice on parenting money and finance home decorating ideas and cooking segments and during the holiday season Home would offer Christmas and Thanksgiving advice and cooking segments. And Home also had the Family Circle Women Who Make A Difference segment as well and the Home theme song was so wonderful and cute. Home was a great show for ABC that I have never figured out why they cancelled it and replaced it with The View. Home is one show that ABC should've kept because it was a monster hit second to Good Morning America and in my eyes Home was cancelled because ABC wanted to expand their morning lineup and they knew that adding talk shows would be better than having Home. But ABC should think about reviving Home in a new version and it would get strong ratings for ABC if it were to exist

I mainly think ABC's Home was nearing it's end because basically what I think caused the show's cancellation in 1994 was the constant rotating cohosts and I had no idea that Sarah Purcell of Real People was a cohost on Home until I found clips of it on Youtube. And I think ABC was trying really hard to make Home the longest running show in ABC history. But what actually caused the death of Home on ABC was they were gonna try something new and fresh with their daytime lineup and when you had Good Morning America as a top show ABC knew that a lifestyle magazine format would do miracles for them in ratings. But I think in the end ABC mainly cancelled Home in 1994 was to make room for the debut of the talk show Mike And Maty in 1995 and once that show got cancelled The View took over. But as I mentioned in my opening post ABC should revive Home in a new format and have it replace The View. Because Home was a great daytime show because it had everything from celebrities lifestyle tips cooking segments and interesting stories. Why ABC cancelled Home in 1994 still remains a mystery in ABC history

It would be smart if ABC would revive Home to replace The View because it would be a perfect fit for ABC's Daytime lineup. Because Home was an excellent show and it should've never ended. Because the way I see it ABC ended Home because I think they secretly wanted to add a new soap opera but when the deal fell through they went ahead and cancelled Home but I think the host and co-host demanded more money from ABC and when ABC wouldn't give them the money the entire staff of Home was let go and the show ended. But a Home revival could work for ABC like magic because ABC needs a lifestyle magazine type of show for the daytime hour
