Default Laura

What does everyone think about Diana Millay as Laura? I liked her in the Laura storyline from 1967, and I like her in the 1897 storyline too!

imo Diana reminds me of Kathryn (Maggie/Rachel) because their voices sound alike. Have you noticed it?

Diana is ok. I like her character. I haven't seen much of last weeks episodes but I have them on tape and plan to watch them this weekend.

I haven't noticed this. *shrugs*

I loved Wednesday's episodes when Laura went to Worthington Hall to pick up her children. I loved her lines when she was talking with Gregory Trask

If you have last weeks episodes on tape play them over and listen to Rachels voice and Lauras and you can kind of tell they sound a little a like. It's too bad this is Lauras last run through the show. I like her.

I really like this storyline. I can see why it lasted so long. I am enjoying Angelique better this time. In the Dream Curse storyline she really didn't have much to do. Plus I like her better in blonde hair instead of brown.

Diana Millay was going to appear in a storyline in 1971, but the show ended before they could get arround to it. She was originally cast to play a role in the 1840 storyline from an interview I've read, but she had to turn it down at the time because of something else. In 1967 after she left the show, she signed a contract that said she'd come back some point later on, but she couldn't at the time because she was pregnent and was expecting her baby within the next few months. She was originally not supposed to be in Night of Dark Shadows, but the original actress who was going to be in the role (Virginia Vestoff, who was in the 1840 storyline) could not do the movie. The character of Samantha Collins in the movie was changed to Laura Collins and given to Diana.

I hated the wig. Unfortunately, we have not seen the last of it. The next time Lisa Richards appears (or the time after that . . . not sure) she will be wearing it.

The character of Joe Haskell went insane after seeing his cousin, Chris, turn into a werewolf.

Joel Crothers got tired of playing the goody goody on the series, so he decided to leave. I believe he asked Dan Curtis if he could play Quentin, but Dan refused his request. So after making his final appearence in episode 666 as Nathan Forbes, he left to do another soap opera, The Secret Storm. He was on that show from 1969 to 1971, and he was then on Somerset from 1972 to 1976, followed by The Edge of Night from 1977 to 1984. His final onscreen role was in 1985, on Santa Barbara. He passed away in 1985 at the age of 44.

Red face

I miss Joel Crothers. He was such a handsome man. He was a fine actor too.

I also enjoyed Diana Millay on Dark Shadows. She is also a gracious person (In person). I loved her storyline.

Who is Lisa Richards? You mention her before but I forgot. She must have had a small part on DS because most episodes I read about she isn't in them.

Her first episode was #692, and she appeared around fourt imes before the end of the Ghosts of Quentin/Beth storyline. Sabrina Stuart was Ned Stuart's sister. Sabrina was Chris' former fiance, and she went into a state of shock after seeing him transform into a werewolf. She comes back during the Levithan storyline.
