I listened to my copy of Diana DeGarmo's Blue Skies and I wondered why she became a one-hit wonder after American Idol Season 3? Because Diana's album was very bubblegum pop and it seemed like she was gonna compete with Hilary Duff and all the other teen stars and she could've made it even bigger but it seems to me that Diana DeGarmo is one of the American Idol alums whose career was forgotten about

The actual reason I think Diana DeGarmo didn't get the success she deserved was because I think RCA didn't promote her album enough and when Diana DeGarmo made her debut on American Idol they compared her to Selena because Diana DeGarmo's voice is identical to Selena's but when her debut single Dreams came out they also compared her to LeAnn Rimes. But I think why she even auditioned for American Idol was because her big brother was in the military and Diana wanted to support him and if you read the thank yous section of the liner notes of the Blue Skies album she thanks her brother rather than her parents. But probably what made her famous was that cover of Don't Cry Out Loud and what is shocking about that song is that they used the exact same music that Melissa Manchester's original version of Don't Cry Out Loud used and i'm surprised Melissa Manchester didn't sue Diana DeGarmo for using her exact same music for her song. But if there's any teen star that could fit the title of one-hit wonder of the 2000's Diana DeGarmo fits that bill
