As is already known, UM took us viewers on adventures all across the country and sometimes, aboard. This is a fun post for cases based on what you would say are the most iconic from each state because the case reflects a semblance about what establishes the state's uniqueness. For the large and vastly diverse California, let's break that one down by its cities. Here are some from my own perspective:
Arizona: Palo Verde train derailment Colorado: Orange Sock murders Florida: Tammy Lynn Leppert Montana: Dexter Stefonek New Mexico: Tara Calico Ohio: Highway prostitute killer Pennsylvania: Dale Kerstetter Rhode Island: Adam Emery Wyoming: Lisa Kimmell |

I've mentioned it before.. But SC doesn't have many.
I'd go with either Blue Ridge Savings Murders, which is still technically unsolved.. They think they know who did it, but.. He's dead and they can't tie him to it fully.. Dana Satterfield who was murdered by Jonathan Vick. Or Walter Rice.. Which.. I believe we solved here.. |

Off the top of my head...Resurrection Mary in Illinois. My home state. I loved this epi as a kid. The blacked out face terrified me!

They only gave a snidbit of the case, as an extension of the Dana Point Jane Doe segment. But the Sumter County Does definitely would have been more interesting if they had been given their own regular length segment.

Newfoundland & Labrador: Gander Plane Crash. Specifically, the interview with rescuer Harvey Day as he is pretty much the average Newfoundlander, accent and all.

Alabama: Marie Hilley
Connecticut: Martha Moxley Florida: Tammy Lynn Leppert is a good choice, but I might go with the Deborah Poe segment Louisiana: Oneal Moore Maine: Joyce McLain Mississippi: Norman Ladner Nevada: Terri McClure New York: Son of Sam, or Sneha Philip North Carolina: Rhonda Hinson Ohio: The Wackers, just because it's such a notorious case around here Oregon: Jeremy Bright Tennessee: Signal Mountain (ATV) Murders Texas: Colleen Reed. UM profiled her because she was missing at the time, but she was one of Kenneth McDuff's many victims in the state. The Edward Bell segment is going to be the most well-known though because of McConaughey Virginia: Sammy Wheeler British Columbia: Cindy James |

I think Texas and Florida could also be broken down by city because there are so many segments from those as well.
Texas: there are at least 2 from my hometown of Arlington. Patsy Wright and the IH 70 Killer. Kenneth McDuff was also mentioned.that was in Austin. Austin currently has a big controversy at Lady Bird Lake as to whether there are a lot of intoxication drownings there, or if there is a serial killer. I also think that the Michael Lloyd Self Segment could be added on in the future as there are a lot of unsolved murders and disappearances of young women in that area. Some of them were attributed to Edward Bell, but were not all conclusive. I think my biggest UM's in Texas are Patsy Wright, Elizabeth Campbell, and the Marfa Lights. the Marfa Lights might be dismissed as hogwash by some, but for me it showcases a very beautiful yet desolate area of Texas that is probably the best dark sky area that I have ever been to. that environment is most likely the reason for some of the phenomena that people are seeing. |

California-Golden State Killer-this scared the crap out of me even as an adult, when I first saw it.
New York City-Su-Ya-Kim and Stanley Gryziec for upstate Florida-Todd Mcafee, again another segment that scared me as an adult BC-OGO POGO I'll try to do a state by state post as I believe every state was featured at least once. |
