Question Hi everyone - Have a question

Hi there -
I'm new to the board.

Have been watching LITB for a long time.
As an "older" member here, I wonder about something:
I notice that some of you are young and are obviously huge fans, especially of Barbara - and I wonder if you could tell me why, if you don't mind.

It's just interesting that young people today would admire the character of June Cleaver and I think it's great! I am a stay at home mom and feel that times have sadly changed for the world, and this show really does emphasize that.

Appreciate the feedback ~
Thanks!

Hey! Welcome to the boards! Enjoy your stay, and remember, keep your feet in @ all times.

Well, my name is Crystal and Im 18 years old. June Cleaver is not my favorite character (I like them all though!), Eddie Haskell is. Ha, I just love how he acts so suave around adults LOl. I like Wally too. Between the two of them, you get quite some eye candy!

I'm 21 years old and in fact my parents grew up on Leave It to Beaver and is one reason I got hooked on the show during this past year. When I was younger, I just couldn't get into it.

One thing that they (my parents) always emphasized about June was the fact that she wore pearls and dresses to clean/cook and garden. This fact immediately drew my attention to her character and looking beyond that, we see a one of the best TV mothers ever. I mean who wouldn't want June Cleaver as a mom? She's pretty, smart, loving and caring and certainly has a personality and a flirtatious manner about her. She certainly takes care of her family and is one of the strongest characters on the show. Perhaps, June's Birthday is the one of the best episodes that focuses on her.

I totally agree. The reason I am such a huge fan of hers is just because IMO, she's a really talented actress. She did such a good job on the show, and she's been in several movies that show her talent goes far beyond that of June Cleaver. Her part in Airplane! shows that. She's hilarious! I've also read Frank Bank's bio and Jerry Mathers' bio books and both of them had nothing but wonderful things to say about her, especially Frank. I believe his exact words about Barbara were "The woman is a friggin saint". This shows that not only is she a great actress but a great person. Not all actresses are like that. I am a huge fan of hers and the show because she and the rest of the cast have never done anything that would make themselves look bad, or tarnish the image of the show I guess you could say. I think Barbara is a person many people look up to and for good reason. Lol, I think I've covered everything...so I'll shut up now!

Well I'm 30 yrs old. I really can't pinpoint any one reason why I'm a fan of the show. I guess I just like the innocence of it. Beaver lived the kind of childhood that I would have loved to have. He had a nice house, nice teachers, parents who got along and grew up in a nice safe town.

You summed up how I feel about the show. That is the exact reason why I love it so much.

Me too, and throw in the fact that the show projects a very strong sense of right and wrong (not that I'm one of the young members Goldie asked about). It's also well crafted, and funny, and the characters are likeable.
