I do live abroad but have the internet but nowadays I don’t watch any shows coming from any of the networks or the so called “streaming services”. I couldn’t tell you what is on ABC, NBC, CBS or FOX except for the news, the Sunday news shows and old legacy shows like The Simpsons, 60 Minutes and Law and Order which has been around for decades.
I have two IPads and basically I just watch YouTube all day. I absolutely love and adore YouTube. It’s basically the Google of videos. It has about 98 percent of everything I want to watch, and there are channels in it concerning various things I watch everyday. It also has a lot of old TV shows on it also. If I lived in America, I would not even own a television. Does anyone else do the same? |

People no longer wanna own a tv, a phone *landline*, newspapers, etc... Its like I've always said, someday we won't even live in houses, we'll all just have our brains plugged into one mother Smart Phone. "What? You still own CHAIRS? Who uses chairs anymore?"
But yes I do occasionally watch TV or DVDs. I even still go to the movie theater, just something fun I find about it |

I watch a lot of TV, but what I watch on TV is rarely linear television. It’s YouTube videos and it’s a few paid streaming services such as Netflix and Peacock. What I do watch on linear TV is live programming: sports, news, awards shows and SNL.
EDITED TO ADD: I also watch MeTV Toons on Frndly TV, which I guess counts as linear TV. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to hang on to that service, though, since the bulk of what I watch on that channel will soon be on Tubi. Looney Tunes and various Hanna-Barbera shows already are. |

I work at home and have re-runs in the background. Can not think of a recent show I was interested in. I think Bloodline but that was years ago.

Same here as I don't think I can live without one. Amount of contents to watch on TV these days is really mind blowing. We have Youtube with unlimited videos to watch on every subject, and then smart TV such as Roku with literary over 1000 channels to watch. I also have TV hooked up to my PC as a monitor, so it me another option of what to watch. TV is On all the time except when I sleep

Technology always evolves:
Automobiles replaced horse wagons Word Processors and computers replaced typewriters Ballpoint pens replaced quills Online movies/music replaced the need for physical media (except for a niche market) Now people get their news from online/mobile sources over print media. News gets updated in real-time. Now most schools don't teach penmanship anymore as students do all assignments online and no longer hand in paper. Also, bye to heavy textbooks. Regarding TV, I haven't tuned into watch something "live" in a while as I watch everything streaming or on-demand. The days of every household tuning at the same time to watch a program are long gone, except for sporting events. |

I think it's fun to channel surf, just sit back, flip channels and see where you end up instead of EVERYTHING having to be planed out in advance. I think sometimes there can be too much technology to the point that nothing seems REAL or organic anymore. We see this when we go out and everyone's walking around like zombies, glued to their phone. I just hate this idea nowdays that there can only be ONE CORRECT WAY that EVERYONE must do EVERYTHING. |

Amen! No streaming here either, except some Youtube vids. But I like to just channel surf and see where I end up much of the time.

I remember back when DVDs first came out, around 1996, that some people were hesitant over it after being used to VHS. More people then saw DVDs had more to offer (better quality, more features, no need to rewind...) and VHS became obsolete around mid-2000s. Also, you can facetime people with modern technology that you cannot do with an old landline. |
