Ward decides the boys should learn about the economy by owning stock. As the boys debate what stock to buy, Eddie comes in and advises them to buy a low cost stock, Jet Electro. Ward and June recommend Mayfield Power to them, so that is their choice.
The stock "does nothing," so the boys convince Ward to get them Jet Electro. Things go well until Jet Electro loses a government contract and the stock takes a nosedive. Beaver announces, "We're ruined." And the boys agree they should have listened to their parents. That said, Ward announces he instructed his broker to sell Jet Electro if it dropped below 2.50, and they've about broken even. A Connelly and Mosher script which could be silently credited to some economy think tank. |
