Default Why doesn't Nick air the first season?

I like the first season. I like the time and setting because it was quite different than the time of the syndicated run. Between 1984 and 1986 was a big change. I miss seeing Charles in those clean cut vest sweaters, neatly cut hairdo and kids who did not complicate his life as much as the powells did.

Actually the show returned in January 1987. I have complete airdates.

Nick at Nite should show the first season. Especially since Meg Ryan guest-starred in one or two episodes in season one.

I think the reason why they don't show Season 1 and 5 is because Nick@Nite didn't make the cuts yet for those and probably won't because they only have the show until end of May 2003, so why bother paying all that money to make the cuts? So I guess that's why they just show seasons 2-4.

I remember when it came back. I'm just counting 1986 because that is when some of those eps were actually filmed.

PB, Maybe after May 2003, they'll renew the contract or it might go to TNN or TV Land! So far it does good on N&N...

If it does get renewed, I only expect it on Nick@Nite or TNN, not TV Land, since it's too new. It doesn't seem like it will be renewed since they didn't bother even making copies/cuts of seasons 1 and 5.

Default copies/cuts

Pavanbadal for those of us not familar with how the inner runnings of a television network/station work, where exactly does a cable channel like Nick at Night get their copies of shows from? And do they, as you say, "make copies/cuts" from a master film/video and then air the "copied" version on-air? Is there anything done to preserve the master copies of shows? It does seem that some shows look better on one channel than another. I'm just very curious of how all this works.

They get copies from the distributors, Charles in Charge is distributed by The Program Exchange/Universal.
