Ah, if only Beaver or Wally had been around when Ward told June he broke his golf club driver--none of this would have happened. And there would have been only 233 episodes.
But, alas, only Ward and June were there. Add Gilbert to the mix and of course there's trouble. Gilbert comes over and wants to hit around some golf balls he coincidentally found. Beaver willingly goes along with this idea. And, to keep the comedy going, the broken club seems to work just fine as Beaver hits the ball--until he discovers the ball is still there. What went into the bushes? Wow, it was the head of the club! Wally convinces Beaver to tell Ward what happened. Ah, but we can't have that--just as beaver is about to spill the beans, Ward notices something -- "Wally, isn't that my shirt you hsve on?" and blows his top. Of course, this scares Beaver enough to go to the sporting goods store, and buy him a new golf club, on time payments. Eventually the jig is up, when Ward discovers the unbroken club. Opinions? |

I don't remember this one that well, but I think "Ward's Baseball" was a stronger episode with a similar theme.
