In my life I have never ever seen so much sports on streaming and I would like to know the reason for the sudden popularity of sports on streaming? Because it seems that every day Amazon Prime Video has either NFL football or NBA basketball games and Netflix has WWE Wrestling and boxing and if you search on sports streaming channels you see a dozen boxing channels and NASCAR racing channels and channels that show reruns of the classic Summer and Winter Olympics from 1970-1994. And even Tubi has gotten into the sports streaming act starting with the 2025 Super Bowl last year which garnered them huge ratings and led them to begin airing other sports. And Paramount+ airs March Madness college basketball and now Peacock is gonna air the Winter Olympics and what I see is Peacock will get big ratings from the Winter Olympics alone. It used to be when Pay-Per-View was a big thing people would pay big money just to see sporting events like WWE Wrestlemania and boxing matches but in sports it seems that streaming channels that air sports have become the new Pay-Per-View of this decade and the decades beyond
