After the 1st season the ratings was pretty bad and the show was discovered in reruns during the summer season. Then the show started to improve in the summer ratings and then in the fall of 1975, ABC made Welcome back kotter a lead in on Thursday Nights and BM was airing in between WBK and What's Happening. Before season 2 Barney Miller couldnt compete with the Waltons on CBS. Once WBK was the lead in the show was in the top 20 shows and never. The week before this article the show was ranked #16

The sweathogs visiting Manhattan from Brooklyn and somehow getting in trouble with the police is an easy script to write.
