The fifth grade class is embarking on a fire prevention project, and several member of the class lobby Beaver to vote for them, for Junior Fire Chief. As Beaver tells the family about this at dinner, Ward urges Beaver to run for the position. He decides to, and wins.
He becomes an avid violation writer, even citing family members. His friend Mr. Gus eventually cools his ardor, stressing advice and cooperation. The class is shocked when Beaver reports no violations, and he is proud of what Mr. Gus "learned" him. After a gentle grammar correction from Miss Landers, the class has learned a lesson in diplomacy and tact, and the Junior Fire Chief earns kudos from them all. How do we rate this episode? Would any other items be cited in modern times? |
