Default Favorite episode?

My favorite episode, I would have to say, is when Mary is sick and she has to go to the Teddy Awards. And, Ted becomes her date. What's anyone else's favorite episode?

We've done the "Favorite episode" thing on here multiple times, but once more won't hurt. The episode you mentioned is definitely a good one. I've even heard Mary name it as her favorite in interviews! I have too many favorites to nail down one, but "The Last Show" never fails to choke me up. Also the pilot of course, and any episode about Ted Baxter is always good for a laugh!

Hi MamaFan -

The awards episode you mentioned was so funny! So un-Mary, the "hair bump" and all!

I don't have one particular episode in mind, but the first season overall was my favorite.

Peace ~

I thought of another episode I like after I watched it a couple of weekends ago. The Chuckles Bites the Dust episode.

I have a lot of favorite episodes, but I think '1040 or Fight' is one of the best.

Default Favorite? So hard to choose...

I'm new to this site so I haven't learned to use all the fun accessories yet. I've been a fan of The Mary Tyler Moore Show since it first aired in 1970.

As for my favorite episodes, here are a few in no particular order:

"The Good Time News" - I like when Mary tells Ted (ON THE AIR!) to shut up.

"The Lars Affair" - First appearance of Sue Ann Nivens and one of the funniest episodes of the series!

"Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcasters School" - Where to begin? Ted's school song; his address to the "audience"; Lou's brilliant reply regarding the passing grade for the course ("We'll probably base it on a class average."); well, I could go on. Oops, I have!!

Bye!

to TV Gen!! Nice to see you on this board (Instead of just TV Land's LOL). "The Good Time News" and "Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcaster's School" are two of my favorites too! I have a LOOONG list of favorites, as you can well imagine!

You're right about Mary's telling Ted to shut up on the air in "The Good Time News". It's SO un-Mary, and yet it's hilarious! I really think the writers had a lot of fun writing for the character of Ted. He was responsible for most of the outrageously funny episodes of this show. You can tell that in some of the Ted episodes, the writers just pulled out all the stops and let the character go as far as he could.

"Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcaster's School is such a riot! The whole scene with the *one* student is too funny! Student:Is this the whole faculty? Mary:No, we're just the department heads.

Another fave that I'm surprised you didn't mention is "Two Wrongs Don't Make a Writer". Ted's version of Mary's story is hilarious. "And at dawn, I saw my reward: Six new-born baby horses!"

Ok, I'm done rambling now, I promise! LOL

Kristen, you and I are in the same boat. So many of them are so good, it would be faster to make a list (albeit a very short list) of those that AREN'T our favorites.

Well, that didn't bother me so much compared to how quiet Georgette was during delivery.
