Question Question!

What's the longest amount of time one can leave their computer on without it turning into flames?

Dunno...... I'd leave mine on all the time but it gets really slow and lagging after a while...

But I think it was like, 18 days. Then it started getting really hot...

I've left it on for about two weeks before, but then my mom warned me about the house catching on fire so I turned it off. I've left my TV on for waaay longer than two weeks and it hasn't blown up (not now I meant like a month ago).

I turn it off when I go to bed and then turn it on when I get up/get home from school.

What do you mean by "leaving it on"? Do you mean leaving it off but switched on at the mains or do you mean actually leaving it on with the screensaver on?
My computer is switched on at the mains all the time but I don't actually turn it on unless I'm intending on using it. I think it's dangerous to leave it on unattended.
At work I leave my computer on all day but I'm sitting at my desk all day so it's not left unattended. This dude I work with left the office one night and forgot to turn his PC off. It was still OK in the morning but it was very hot and it was acting a bit wierd.
He's lucky he never burnt the office down!!

I'm scared to leave my on all the time. See, I have 5 cats (inside cats) and they barf anywhere. I'd hate to see what would happen if they got on top of a hot computer and barfed all over it. Well, I'd hate to see them barf on the computer when it wasn't on. I'd prob. never get the thing to work again.

If you have cats, buy some of those cover things. I don't use the cover for the keyboard, but I do use one for the monitor and the computer.

Yea, like I turn it on at about 5 pm (7 for y'all on the Eastern Coast ) and then stay on for a while. Then I turn it off for like an hour or so so I can watch my shows (7th Heaven, Real World, whatever's on Disney or USA) and then go back on at about 9 and stay on til I close down the office at about midnight and go to bed. I've never left it on overnight or for long periods of time cause i'ts just a waste of power.
