Dick and Barry Van Dyke had success together in the 90s with Diagnosis Murder, which outlasted Dick's classic 60s sitcom by three seasons. But their first time acting together (Barry announced on The New Dick Van Dyke Show) did not go well. CBS could have at least burned off the unaired four episodes, which included the only two parter of the series, on a slow night.
