January 7 is National Bobblehead Day. A bobblehead, also known by nicknames such as nodder, wobbler, or wacky wobbler, is a type of small collectible figurine. Its head is often oversized compared to its body. Instead of a solid connection, its head is connected to the body by a spring or hook in such a way that a light tap will cause the head to move around, or "bobble," hence the name. Some bobbleheads can be worth big bucks on eBay.

The Golden Girls bobbleheads are available at the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame Store. Choose from Blanche Devereaux, Dorothy Zbornak, Rose Nylund and Sophia Petrillo or one of the special edition sets.



The New York Yankees have honored their "assistant to the traveling secretary" with George Costanza bobbleheads the past two seasons on Seinfeld Night. Some of them have sold for hundreds of dollars.





In the season two episode "Valentine's Day" of NBC's The Office, Dwight Schrute is given a bobblehead doll of himself by Angela Martin as a Valentine's Day gift. It's available on Amazon.



Some minor league baseball teams have given away TV character related bobbleheads. The Toledo Mud Hens have done several Jamir Farr bobbleheads. They had one for his 90th birthday in 2024. He was born in Toledo, Ohio.



This morning, to celebrate National Bobblehead Day, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first officially licensed, limited-edition Saturday Night Live Bobblehead Series. The bobblehead series features 10 different characters from NBC's Emmy-winning late-night comedy show which is currently in its 51st season. The special edition bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of NBCUniversal.

The Saturday Night Live Bobblehead Collection includes the following bobbleheads:

The bobbleheads, which will each be individually numbered to 2,026, are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum's Online Store. The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in May, are $35 each for the individual bobbleheads and $40-$50 for the dual bobbleheads plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
