Default When did soap operas from the UK, Turkey and Asia become so big

I've noticed that soap operas from Turkey Asia and the UK have gained such a giant fanbase more than American soap operas and to me I think the soap operas from India and Turkey are the ones with the biggest fanbase. Because I have seen more soap operas from Turkey being translated into Spanish and English and it seems to have become a trend in TV today. And I've noticed the same thing with Asian soap operas being translated into English and I have never seen these soap operas begin a huge trend in TV. Also I have noticed that soap operas from the UK have also become popular and what it tells me is that UK soap operas have become very big as well and in all honesty these soap operas have replaced American soap operas and when you look at the streaming channels you'll find a dozen Asian soap opera streaming channels translated into English and streaming channels full of soap operas from India and Turkey translated into English and Spanish and also streaming channels with soap operas from the UK are popping up and it's surprising to me that these soap operas have replaced the American soap operas now. If there was a streaming channel full of the old soap operas from the UK people would go wild and crazy

In my eyes why Asian Turkish and British soap operas have become so popular than American soap operas is because in the Middle Eastern countries there is a giant market for soap operas like Bollywood movies have been a big deal for decades. But I think why these soap operas have become hugely popular is because they have simple storylines and they try to keep them clean. But I have never seen Asian soap operas take off like rockets and become popular. I do hope that someday BBC will develop a British soap opera channel much like ABC did with SoapNet in the 1990's for all the old classic UK soap operas

The other reason why soap operas from India and Turkey have started becoming popular is you can blame the popularity of India's Bollywood movies and the reason why Asian soap operas have taken off in popularity is they are better than American soap operas but it is rare to find Asian soap operas in streaming channels in English but it is pretty much the same thing with soap operas in India and Turkey. My aunt became a mega fan of soap operas from Turkey and got my mom watching them and my mom loves the wonderful love stories that they have as storylines. But BBC should develop a streaming app for reruns of classic UK soap operas in America and it would sure be a hit if you were to exist

The other reason why I think soap operas from Turkey and Asia have become big is because they have simple storylines that are easy to follow and their love stories are unique itself. And why UK soap operas have become big is because they are like the American soap operas because as a soap opera becomes a monster hit in the UK it has a strong fanbase. But there should be more streaming channels for Turkish soap operas in English and Spanish because they seem to have become more popular than American soap operas

What I also cannot figure out is why they don't make soap operas from Turkey in English because it's shocking that soap operas from Turkey come in Turkish and Spanish but not in English and they should because it would be easier to understand what the characters and storylines are about. I know that Asian soap operas are also in English too in addition to Japanese and Filipino and Chinese but why aren't there soap operas from Turkey in English?
