This Emmy ad ran one year after the show made history when the character of Ellen Morgan, played by Ellen DeGeneres, came out as a lesbian in the landmark “The Puppy Episode.” https://variety.com/gallery/tv-ads-r.../ellen061998d/ Attached Images
