I don't think it was ever stated the reason they broke up. I think the marriage just went stale. The last scene I remember w/Fred was when he and Jackie were at the dinner table talking about their son and they both agreed that the marriage was over.

I think they should have stayed together too. I don't like the way they started to portray jackie after that... she used to be kinda tough, and as the seasons went on she turned too whiny or something.

I wonder why they killed him off. It wasn't because Roseanne had a problem with him, because he still had little roles during the 8th season. He did get kind of boring after they got married, he was much funnier when he was trying to win Jackie over.

You thought that too? I always felt Jackie really made a complete change. It was strange.

What was the episode where Fred and Jackie were eating dinner and they agree the marraige is over? Was that the same episode they see the therapist (played by Ellen DeGeneres). I always thought that episode was almost immediately after the episode where he walked out because he found out Jackie was going out with that guy, Pete. I had always assumed the marriage fell apart pretty much because of Jacking seeing another guy, although they had other problems too.

Great, thanks. So it was the same episode. I looked it up on an episode guide but it was pretty vague, and I couldn't tell if they saw the therapist the same episode they called it quits over dinner.
