Post Interested In Info On Chico Rodriguez

Curious to find out some info on Chico Rodriguez. I'd love to know when did his mother die? When did he go to Vietnam? When did he get out of the Army? I'm assuming he got drafted & didn't go on his own. What did he do during the time between getting out of the Army & going to Ed Browns Garage? Also would love to know other different info too... If anyone knows thanks!

In the episode where Chico may go work for Carlos -Chico says he lived with Carlos's family.
In the first Aunt Connie episode Chico says Connie raised him.
In the Padre episode Chico is angrilly telling his dad how hard his mom worked to care for him after he "died"
There are so many different stories and it never really elaborates on any of them.
I guess they just don't count on fans loke us who memorize each show.

goodness Cheryl, I wasn`t aware Chico did all that, I was under the impression he ran with a rough crowd and wanted to get out of it and go straight, and thats how he got hooked up with Ed. I`m going to watch these shows real careful now.

Good point Anna!
In the episode where Chico turns to his old gang to help find ed's lucky hat Chico talks to the guys like Ed gave him the job in the garage to help him stay out of trouble with the gangs.
I had forgotten that until I read your messsage.

Cool

Well if Chico went into the army at 18 and Ed hired him at 22 that was right...You do 4 year stints in the armed forces...So that was right but as for the rest....WHO KNOWS!!!

Did any of you ever notice on the show called Chico packs his bags Chico, angry at Ed for interfering in his business tells Ed something to the effect of I'm not a kid I'm 25 years old ******.
I think for the show they had Freddie played Chico as slightly older which would probably give him more time to do the things he's supposed to have done.
Did anyone else notice that age comment on Chico packs his bags?

I read somewqhere Chcio was supposed to have been 24 yrs old. Somehow Freddie looked a little older than he really was. There's this 1 pic in his moms book of him in a Tux & he looks so mature & adult. Older than he really was.

Chico says he lived with Carlos's family. I think he stayed with them some in the summers according to the episode with Carlos in it & he almost goes back to NYC with him...

"In the first Aunt Connie episode Chico says Connie raised him.
In the Padre episode Chico is angrily telling his dad how hard his mom worked to care for him after he "died"--"

I wonder if maybe his Aunt Connie help his mom raise him after the dad died. TOo abd they didn't give mroe info on him.

Thanks for the info! I was curious!

Hey Cheryl, the writing was lousy for the show. there are a lot of things they did not do. For example: Louie's wife, no mentioning of siblings, in many episodes he is from New York, then they had him from East L.A.

Poor Poor Poor writing.

Yep, your right.I'm assuming they had him without any brothers or sisters like the real Freddie... (Except the real Freddie had the half brother & sister)...
