Variations of the theme song - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Ok, I am a little confused here, on the different versions of the theme song. It very apparent that Lifetime chops off most of the theme song. In the syndicated Lifetime abbreviated version the lady who sings the song says Your a Pal and A Confidant", and then the goes to "Thank you for Being A Friend". But during some episode they go to the original NBC First-Run long version of the song. So after she sings "Your a Pal and A Cofidant", she then sings "And If you through a party, and invited everyone you knew", and the song last longer, and obviously the credits are longer. Does anyone know why they do it for certain episodes, and not for others?

I have noticed that most of the episodes with the longer theme song are episodes from season 7 but I don't know why they only do it for those few eps.

There are 3 versions of the them....The Short [ the one lifetime plays almost all the time] The medium with the "And if you threw a party" sung...and the long one with "And if you threw a party" sung 2 times.

Lifetime usually will play the long version when there is a 2-part episode.

Hi, does anyone who where I can get the wav file for the LONGEST version of the tv theme? I have only found it for realplayer, and I would love to use it in my latest Flash movie.

Maybe they edit more out of the episode and need to use the longer theme to use the extra time? I'm not really sure so don't quote me on it.

either way it's confusing and I like the long version best so they should play it all the time
