I was listening to my copy of Prince's album The Hits and I noticed that his song Diamonds And Pearls is actually a duet with Rosie Gaines and she also duetted with Prince on the song Nothing Compares To You and I always wanted to know how Prince and Rosie Gaines began doing duets? Did Prince discover Rosie at his concert or was Rosie Gaines Prince's first opening act at his concerts? I did hear that Rosie Gaines has been singing since the 70's as a solo artist. And when you listen to Rosie Gaines's vocals on Diamonds And Pearls Rosie sounds like Taylor Dayne in her powerful voice. Were Rosie Gaines and Prince crushes way before Prince married his wife too?

In my eyes the way I view it I think Prince was gonna make Rosie Gaines an even bigger star by having her perform at his concerts and I think Rosie knew that signing on with a big star like Prince could get her more fame. But did Rosie Gaines make a comeback in the 90's? Because I knew she had written a song for Patti LaBelle called I Hear Your Voice that appeared on Patti's 1991 album Burning
