Default Burning down the house

what would you say was the best tv house fire ?

I remember seeing Webster's apartment burn and the Hogan Family's house burn as a child (maybe that is why I fear fire so much now). I've seen the "fire" on All in the Family on Nick at Nite. If I had to pick the best, it would be the Hogan Family fire. It was so real it gave me chills. I know the powers that be forgot it happened the next week (the family was back in the same house with the same decor) but it was still very real. Webster's fire was good because the family had to move (they didn't continue to live in the same apartment that was repaired with magic)

All in the Family. In one episode the house was burned and Archie tried to profit from it at the expense of the insurance company.

That would be my vote too.

The Facts of Life- Edna's Edibles burning down Didn't actually show the fire, but it showed the damage to the store.

Burning down the house.

A decent song played at high school football games in the 80s...

Watch! Me! Sweep! You! Off! My! Feet!

BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE!

But with Brady Bunch or Brady Grid having a 'Family Bonding Moment', I'll just say under the Anoiting that I just saw the question. And I've got the answer.

The best TV House fire was in Little House on the Prairie (technically a blind school, but since it...well...housed blind kids, we'll call it a...well...house.)

The ep was called 'May We Make Them Proud'. No longer watchable because I saw it on 9/11

And as Mr. Brady says on Brady Grid:

That'll do Bob.

Amen.

Uh oh. Marcia's running for President.

I gotta 'Hajduk' split.

Like later.

I should note that the episode was orignally taped with Valerie Harper but when she was dropped they re-taped the episode with Sandy. The Valerie version is one of the two "lost" Hogan Family(Valerie/Valerie's Family) episodes.

I wonder what the Valerie episode is like? The Sandy episode is so good.

I'm surprised that Wingsfan didn't mention the house fires on Wings! I think the second fire on Wings was good. It was ironic because Joe and Helen were about move into their new house when they accidently set Brian and Casey's house ablaze. So Brian and Casey had to move in with Joe and Helen, continuing to annoy them until they got their own house.

I agree with you. That episode was so sad because the baby and Merlin Olsen's wife died in the fire.

Default Best TV Fire

I would have to add the burning of Southfork on "Dallas" in 1982. I remember being anxious to see how the cliffhanger would be resolved in the fall, needless to say, no main characters perished in the blaze. While it wasn't the caliber of "Who Shot JR," it was a memorable cliffhanger and tv blaze.
