"Trailer Park Boys" Announce Mike Smith has “Stepped Away” Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuit

After wrapping Season 13 of the Canadian mockumentary in August, Mike Smith is stepping back from "Trailer Park Boys" amid a sexual assault lawsuit against him.

The group behind the Netflix comedy noted that they take “such matters seriously” and that Smith has “stepped away” from his role as Trailer Park Boys Inc.’s managing director after he was charged early last month over an alleged incident that happened in 2017.



“We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously,” said Trailer Park Boys Inc. in a statement to multiple outlets. “We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved.”

“Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case. At this time, Mike has stepped away from his role at Trailer Park Boys Incorporated and Gary Howsam has assumed managing director responsibilities.”
