Default Bruised Tailbones

How long does it take for them to heal?? My gosh, I've had a bruised tailbone for a week and it still hurts!

I hope you feel better, It's not fun.
I fell on the ice once and it took a week to heal.
I guess it just depends on how hard you land.

Back in late October to early November I was out delivering flyers in the snow on my skateboard. I figured the roads would be okay to skateboard on because the snow is always cleaned off of city streets, unlike towns where the snow just keeps piling up because of less traffic flow or something like that. (Big mistake.) On my second street I slipped on some ice and fell on my left hip. I don't know if I bruised the tailbone or not, but I was limping the whole way on my route and back home afterwards. Later on that same week I was walking with the sun delivery and some of the cracks in the concrete on the walkways to one of the apartments was uneven, so I tripped and fell on my side again and when I was walking home to get the rest of the flyers for the other streets, I was chuckling to myself for falling on the sidewalk two days in one week.

It depends. If you did just bruise your tailbone then it should feel about normal soon. But if you're out of alignment - which is a possibility - then you should see a chiropractor. I had what felt like a bruised tailbone one time and it went on for a long time, and then I discovered that I was out of whack. One adjustment and, voila, I was fine!

When you're out of allignment or twisted in some way nerves are pinched togther and cause low level constant pain and stress or sharp pain. A chiropractor can locate the source of the problem and readjust your body, which relieves the pressure and brings your body back to full power. Being a runner, I've had times when I was way sub-par but was aware of it because I know what to expect from my body. So when things aren't right I go see this one particular chiropractor--it's important to find one who is good at what he or she does--and he has brought me back to full power or relieved the pain that I was in.
