Default Did you feel sorry for any of Fred's "victims" who Fred was overly rough on?

I mean some ppl Fred unleashed his insults on certainly DESERVED it, but there were a few that he was uncalled for too rough on IMO. Esther being one of them, there were times that Esther genuinely made an effort to get along with Fred and he just put her down in every sentence. She was truly concerned about him when he was in the hospital, she goes to visit him and he has her stand in front of the window, hoping she'd be SHOT! That's was just too far lol Another was Nancy Culp's character *Hoppy' mother*, He insulted her looks every time she walked in the room and she did nothing wrong or offensive that I could tell, she was just looking for a place to stay and trying to get by.

I felt sorry for Lamont anytime Fred called him dummy. I don't know who's idea was to use that phrase almost in every episode as it was not funny. You can tell from Lamont's face expression (especially in later episodes) that he didn't liked to be called dummy. But power that be thought it was funny.

Fred calling Lamont "dummy" was like Archie calling Mike "meathead" But the one time I really laughed is when Fred was walking through the clothing store and bumped into a mannequin and said, "Oh, excuse me, dummy!" totally touche'! lol

Ah Chu really didn't deserve what Fred dished out, but I think he understood that's just the way Fred was, and he sure knew what Lamont had to go through all the time.

Julio? Now, he really understood the bigotry and often baited Fred to get him riled up to make a point. Julio could also dish it out, too, and turn all the insults right back around.

The dummy joke would have been funnier if Lamont looked like JJ Evans

But since he didnt come off as a dummy the joke made no sense

Now on his show Sanford, the fat jokes was funny because Cal was obese

Fred was WAYYY softer in Sanford than in Sanford and Son. He gave a really heart felt speech about racism to Cal's racist mother, about not judging someone by the color of their skin, and told her if she wanted to hate him because he was mean or nasty, that was one thing but his skin color shouldn't play a part in it.... I was thinking this CAN'T be the same Fred lol Also Fred stood up for Cal several times
