I am not totally sure why some of the updates on the episodes show information that is incorrect.
For example, on the one about Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman, it gives no mention of the man who was convicted but instead says something about the serial killer names Jones who recanted a confession.
The Swain murders are another one. Perry was exonerated and now Erik Sparre is charged. No mention is made of Sparre or Perry's exoneration.

Because they were predominantly made in 2017.

Some received updated updates but they're only going to keep editing episodes made for cheap/free FAST and streaming distribution for so long.

I intend to include a review of how updates were done in my UM database, and eventually put fully updated versions in my reworked episodes so I have taken some note of how updates were handled in the re-releases.

Beyond the aforementioned issue that events after these re-releases (which were thrown together to make a quick buck selling the series on streaming) have not been updated there are a few other incongruities.

In a few cases updates are given for cases that are not solved, which is noteworthy.

In other cases, updates give the impression that the case was solved but a more detailed look reveals that to be subject to interpretation. In some cases no one was convicted, or someone was convicted but later had that overturned, etc.

In general I think the text update format does not lend itself to more nuanced explanations the way video updates did, and in some cases a simple update was put where a more complex one was needed.

Sometimes they also make an error in their haste to update.

For example, they included the indictment of a man for the disappearance of Dale Williams, but forgot to keep the EAR/ONS update they'd already put for that segment (YouTube version). So now EAR/ONS looks like it's still unsolved.

They also missed the update for the Jay Cook and Tanya Von Cuylenborg murders and the identification of Mary Ann Perez's remains.

Still, I think it's neat that they are continuing to update these when they can instead of just leaving them untouched.

pretty sure they have an update on the youtube version of the filmrise version of the episode. if you watch on pluto or prime or other streaming service it does not.

The update for Pam Page is incorrect and has never been corrected. The police have never ruled out Rob Page as a suspect in her disappearance.
