Did you ever wish to get some drinking glasses for free? If you did you probably used Duz Detergent. In the 1960's Duz Detergent launched an interesting commercial. The commercial begins in an antique shop where the owner shows a lady some unique glasses that have star sapphire designs on them but little does the owner know that other people are interested in learning about them too and the lady asks where the glasses came from and the owner answers "they come in Duz" and the other women are surprised and ask the owner to make a deal to buy the glasses and then the commercial ends. I never knew that you could get free glassware from detergent boxes and I never even heard of Duz Detergent before. Your parents or grandparents probably had a set of these drinking glasses when you were growing up and I wonder if these drinking glasses are collector's items or antiques today. The commercial might be circa 1966. Did any of your parents/grandparents owned a set of these drinking glasses when you were a kid? PM me or feel free to share your wonderful stories on these antiques

I asked my mom if she remembers seeing these free drinking glasses in Duz Detergent when she was growing up and what she told me was that she doesn't recall a detergent that gave free drinking glasses. It's amazing how products would give you free items in the box like kids getting toys in cereal boxes and you don't see that with household cleaning products today. I'm curious how much a complete set of Duz Detergent glasses are going for today? Because I think Duz Detergent is no longer made and you don't see commercials for it today and I bet these drinking glasses are true antiques today

It's hard to believe that household cleaning products do not give free items today and it's hard to believe that Duz Detergent used to give free drinking glasses and as I mentioned before these drinking glasses must be antiques today and I wonder if Duz Detergent still exists today?

I don't remember Duz but I remember my grandmother having Welch's Jelly Glasses.

I never knew that you could get free drinking glasses from dish detergent like you used to get with Duz Detergent and I think the reason why many people bought Duz Detergent was just for the drinking glasses alone and probably they introduced different glass designs with different Duz Detergent commercials. My great-grandmother used to buy Red Rose Tea mix because they would give out free porcelain thimbles and porcelain figurines with the tea mix and my mother collected them as antiques and so I wonder if Duz Detergent copied this promotion from Red Rose Tea Mix?
