Default Maude or Gloria? Which was the WORST All In the Family Spinoff?

I say Maude, finally had a chance to watch a lot of Maude in the past 2 years and it's just not a show you can watch over and over again. I think Gloria was the more watchble spinoff

You like Gloria better than Maude? How long was Gloria on for? I never saw one episode, but I've seen a lot of Maude...so I really can't say. I'm just surprised that you would think that.

I have only seen one of each and Gloria stunk. Maude was at least funny.

Well Both shows were Bad but the Worst to me was Maude. Gloria lasted ONE season. Gloria was cancelled after it's first season after it was ranked #18. Doesn't sound like cancellation numbers to me-lol

Gloria was just flat out bad and would've gotten only worse if it had stayed on the air.

I liked both shows. I think Gloria was pretty good and both it and ABP was treated badly by CBS. As for which is worst I'll go with Gloria because Maude was a better made show and lasted longer. I just wish it would come out on DVD. It was great watching it on Comcast.

It definitely had a built in audience, but as for longevity, Sally Struthers wasn't leading lady material.

I haven't seen Gloria since its debut, so I can't really say. I am a fan of Maude and I thought her show was funny. The only thing on Gloria I remember is her interview, the interviewer asked if she had experience cleaning up after animals and she said. "I cleaned up after Michael for 12 years".

It couldn't have been that terrible if it was in the Top 20 after it's first season.

Default Maude Began With Potential

Maude had lots of potential when it was first spun off. If you don't believe me, take a look at the AITF episode entitled "Cousin Maude's Visit."

Bea Arthur was given some great lines in response to her nemesis, Archie. Her performance made Norman Lear believe the character of Maude could stand alone.

"Maude" the spin-off was never as humorous as was her AITF appearance, likely for two reasons: She needed Archie as her comic foil; and more importantly, the AITF writers did NOT write for the Maude series. New writers were hired and they never achieved the great writing of the AITF staff.

Man solomon, you have some terrible taste when it comes to television shows. I swear to God.

of course Maude was the best overall and GLORIA was just S**T. How can you compare a great running show to a show that was just full of crap???? that's like comparing a steak to a hamburger.
