My dad says that Robert Redford starred in a movie that was named Rhinestone Cowboy and I would like to know if such a movie existed? I know that there is the Glen Campbell song also named Rhinestone Cowboy and it makes me think the song came from this movie

Stallone was in Rhinestone 1984

So the Robert Redford movie where he played a cowboy was actually named The Electric Horseman and it's from 1979? What's it about? Dad kept thinking Rhinestone Cowboy was actually a Robert Redford movie but now I do know the name is really The Electric Horseman thanks to you Dakert,

He was a former rodeo star who was promoting a breakfast cereal and he found out they were mistreating a horse he stole the horse and rode off...that's all I remember of it.

Yes, in that movie Dolly Parton tries to turn Sylvester Stallone who is a cab driver into a country singer.
