well a t first I thought she would sorta be kinda like other recent "punk" bands. like Blink 182 and stuff. Not that thats BAD but... well thats what I expected. But I heard her new song and I was like... Wrong. it's quite different. I like it. i though it wouldn;t be very good. but it is. Im definately gonna buy her cd. I was wrong about her "selling out".

Well I saw a clip of her new video and now I hate her. I didn't have a problem when she covered that Madonna song, but there's this great NY garage band called the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Kelly is copying the sound and the look of them. What bothers me is that the YYYs are an underground band and are not known to the public. So it's going to look like Kelly was the trend setter. I'm sorry but she's such a poser. And Blink 182 isn't punk they're pure teenie pop. Punk is Ramones, Sex Pistols, the stooges, velvet underground, the Jam, etc. (I could go on and on)

These are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs:

The Yeah Yeah Yeah's are a great live garage band that takes me straight back to a time when Punk Rock was at its absolute finest. And Karen O has a great voice. Check them out I highly recommend them.

bo ***** shirlock. thats why i put the word punk in quotes. I swear people must have formed an underground "Try to analyze everything Dana says and make sure to drill it into her skull that she knows nothing" club.

The sight of punk and b-182 in the same sentence makes me laugh

I cannot stand Kelly..her cover wasn't that bad(excpet for the robotic sounds), but when I saw her do the song "live" , she was lip synching both times. Thats just sad if you don't even sing your first performance.:

Are you talking about the performance she gave on the MTV awards show? The one where she ran down all those steps at the beginning of the performance? I gave her credits for running down all those steps without tripping. Geez, if it was me I would tripped halfway and fell on my ass.

Courage to change the things I can

Am I the only one who thinks her voice is similar to Brody's from The Distillers?

Listen. little folk:

You don't know what punk is and what it means at all. And Blink 182 and even Green Day are piss poor imitations of what punk was even all about.

Punk was hard, driving, distorted music with blistering if not ironic lyrics that actually tooled on something besides the "oh boy nobody get me" crap.

You want punk in a nutshell?

Listen to

The Dead Kennedys
The Sex Pistols
The Clash
The Meatmen
The Buzzcocks
Black Flag

Oh, hell, get the Repo Man soundtrack for a good introduction to music that is not just about flailing and being a common clone of music that these tools (Blink and such) know you've never listened to.

Seriously, buy some Dead Kennedys.

Since I have the feeling this post was adressed to me because all of you feel like annoying me 24/7 (you do a damn good job) I would like to say: did I ever say they weren't? I don't particularly like either of them.

Punk by definition means a moldy piece of wood used for burning. So actually I do know what punk means... hahahah... ok nvm that was stupid.... but true.
