Need Episode Related To Quote - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

This has been a question that has been bothering me since my college days, and I think I may have found the forum and knowledge that may be able to answer this question.

I was never a big "Cheers" fan in my younger days. But, I remember during my college years, a Cheers episode was on TV, and I believe Sam and Diane were saying their farewells to each other.

Does anybody remember this quote,

"Have a good life. I'm happy for you."

After seeing that episode, we all began using that quote in association with failed relationships or partying.

Was this an actual line form an episode. I could swear that it was. If it is, I would like to purchase a copy of that episode, but I have no idea where to begin. Does naybody know the episode number or the that episode's title?

I believe you are referring to the episode 121, I Do, Adieu. It was Diane's final episode on Cheers. Hope this helps...

Off to the top of my head here is how the scene goes after Sam and Diane kiss, its not the exact words, but its pretty much it.

SAM: Have a good life.

DIANE: Have a good life? Thats something you say when your not going to see somebody again.

SAM: Well I dont know, alot can happen in 6 months, I can feel differently, you can feel differently.

DIANE: Sam none of those things are going to happen. I will be back here. I will see you in 6 months.

Diane leaves up the stairs.

SAM: Have a good life.

That sounds right to me. I have a hard time watching this episode. I find it very sad when Sam says, "Have a good life", after Diane has already left.

The first time I saw that episode I cried

I still do,it's just so sad when your favorite character leaves a show...

There are three episodes I always cry when I watch! "I do, Adieu", "I'll be seeing you Pt. 2" and "Fortune and Men's Weights". Any episode where they break up or like in Fortune and Men's weights when they almost break up, I can't watch them... I cry ever single time!
