"Law & Order" Season 25 Preview
Fall TV Preview 2025: Law & Order
Thursday, Sept. 25, at 8/7c Good people of the Law & Orderverse: Det. Jalen Shaw has left the building. Mehcad Brooks exited the NBC procedural after the Season 24 finale, and his character “is gone by the time we start” Season 25, showrunner Rick Eid tells us. “We touch on it in the first episode. You’ll know why he’s gone.” However, you won’t meet Shaw’s replacement at the precinct right away (because “we haven’t cast it yet, to be honest,” Eid says), and you won’t see Det. Riley too concerned with his lack of partner, either. “These guys in real life bounce around, they partner up, people go, and, as we’ll explain, it’s not like Shaw’s off to Hong Kong or something,” the show boss says. “If they want to go get a beer [off-camera] some night, they can.” The premiere also will “explain everything” about Assistant District Attorney Price’s suspicion that ADA Maroun had a hand in the death of her sister’s alleged murderer, Eid says. Other episodes will deal with the return of Riley’s brother, Matt (Ryan Eggold), who has “recently been released from his little vacation in state prison”; District Attorney Baxter’s bid for reelection; and Brady’s “family dynamic” with her two sons. Plus, a crossover with SVU “will probably” air in early 2026, Eid says. BONUS SPOILER!: Price has a new girlfriend, whom we’ll meet at some point in Season 25. https://tvline.com/lists/2025-fall-t...dman-season-2/ |
