That's difficult to do, only someone like you who eats sleeps and lives in that era will get that. I want to play my way too where you take an obscure name like Johnny Depp that you figure can't possibly be connected to Lucy, and you get him to her in six or less steps. I look at my movie collection and i get one in five minutes. It is possible to connect Lucy to practically anyone in show biz my way!

You can connect Lucy, Desi, Viv, Bill, etc. to anyone in Hollywood, dead/alive, current/retired.

I can connect William Frawley to Johnny Depp in 3 steps.

1. William Frawley was in Miracle on 34th St. with Natalie Wood.

2. Natalie Wood was in Brainstorm with Christopher Walken

3. Christopher Walken was in Nick of Time (and Sleepy Hollow) with Johnny Depp.

And there you have it

OK.

1. William Frawley was in Lady on a Train with Ralph Bellamy

2. Ralph Bellamy was in Pretty Woman with Amy Yasbeck (you may remember her from "Wings" she played Casey)

3. Amy Yasbeck was in The Mask with Jim Carrey

Can't believe that only took 3.

Geez, is this person a ringer, or what? That's unbelievable! The point is to get somebody you figure can't possibly be connected to Lucy, and yet this person does it in three. Tobey McGuire?

I can do that one (though not in three!)

Tobey McGuire, via Spiderman, takes us to Sam Raimi
Sam Raimi, obviously, leads us to Bruce Campbell
Bruce Campbell, through McHale's Navy, takes us to Dean Stockwell
Dean Stockwell, through Abbot And Costello in Hollywood, takes us to Lucy.

There may be other routes.

Vivian Vance to Cameron Diaz in three steps.

1) Viv was in "The Secret Fury" with Claudette Colbert

2) Claudette Colbert was in "The Two Mrs. Grenvilles" with Ann-Margaret

3) Ann-Margaret was in "Any Given Sunday" with Cameron Diaz.

I'll use Natalie Wood as a route again but with a different movie:

1. William Frawley was in Chicken Every Sunday with Natalie Wood

2. Natalie Wood was in Peeper with Michael Caine

3. Michael Caine was in The Cider House Rules with Tobey Maguire

Dawsongirl mentioned trying someone from WKRP--so I'll try

William Frawley to Loni Anderson.

1) William Frawley was in "East side West Side" with Barbara Stanwyck

2) Barbara Stanwyck was in "Roustabout" with Raquel Welch (in a bit part)

3) Raquel Welch was in "Fuzz" with Burt Reynolds

4) Burt Reynolds was in "Stoker Ace" with Loni Anderson.

How about Frank Bonner aka "Herb Tarlek" on WKRP:

1. William Frawley was in Pretty Baby (and Miracle on 34th St.) with Edmund Gwenn

2. Edmund Gwenn was in Lassie Come Home with Roddy McDowell

3. Roddy McDowell was in Going Under with Frank Bonner
