What if Woody Harrelson and Charles-Burrows-Charles accepted NBC's interest in continuing Cheers after Sam Malone's departure with the show now rebuilt around Woody Boyd?
For one thing, would the Season 11 plot of Woody being elected to city council never happen? And would Kelsey Grammer stay on since his spinoff wouldn't happen at this time? |

it wouldn't have survived as Kirstie Alley and Ted Danson were gone and even without the spin-off Grammer would have been busy with other projects and most likely left Cheers in this hypothetical scenario leaving only Woody Harrelson, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger and Rhea Perlman it wouldn't have lasted much longer as all of them were primarily comic relief/one note characters unlike Grammer's Frasier Crane or Danson's Sam Malone who had a emotional crux beyond their comedic misadventures.

Why did Ted Danson famously opt to end the long-running sitcom after the eleventh season despite the objections of NBC executives and the still-formidable ratings that the show continued to receive?
