I was going to watch Terms of Endearment for the first time Wednesday night. The intro with Ben M and Mario Cantone played without problem. Mario sure is obnoxious, stick to Ben hosting solo or joined by someone qualified like Alicia.
The movie then started, picture was fine and Debra Winger looked very beautiful. But the correct sound was never there, just loud static. I switched to ABC's new episode of Millionaire and checked TCM during commercials. They had pulled Terms of Endearment and replaced it with some boring looking black and white western, found out from Facebook comments that it was Fort Apache. I turned back to TCM after 10:00 expecting an apology for the screw-up and announcing that it would be rescheduled. When Fort Apache which was super boring finished, no Terms of Endearment outro just some other filler. And while there were several comments complaining about the sound malfunction on TCM's Facebook page I checked today, the cowards running that station refused to acknowledge it there either. One of the comments was some Canadian viewer ticked that every time Arsenic and Old Lace airs on TCM like 6 nights ago, it is not aired on TCM Canada and replaced with some other movie.

It seems it was the mistake for TCM but it should keep it more common sense, more classic & more vintage. It should remained committed to films from the pre-2000 era
