LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Cable channel GSN has hired actress Kim Coles ("Living Single") and stand-up comedian Judy Gold to host the pilots for its revivals of "The Dating Game" and "The Newlywed Game," respectively.

The shows, which originated in the 1970s, will incorporate modern elements like online dating sites.

"The Newlywed Game" often is identified with Bob Eubanks, who hosted most of the show's incarnations, though Jim Lange, Paul Rodriguez and Gary Kroeger were featured in some editions. "The Dating Game" has been hosted by Lange, Elaine Joyce, Jeff MacGregor, Brad Sherwood and Chuck Woolery.

Seriously? Sounds like a very late April Fool's joke to me. (Then again, considering that this is the same network that thought Dylan Lane would be a good host, why should I be surprised?)

I met Judy Gold in New York when I did the Lifetime Network's 20th Anniversary of The Golden Girls, which Judy hosted along with Mo Rocca. She's very tall, intimidating but funny!

She has that biting New Yorker wit...

Judy has that snarky sense of humor so I can see that working for Newlywed Game. I think she could be a good host. Though I'm surprised they didn't ask Bob. That's what worries me, TNG has bombed every time that it's tried to go on without Bob Eubanks.

GSN...STOP REVIVING CLASSIC GAME SHOWS. Especially with Z-list hosts.
